Masonry software with AI: quotes for wall openings, brickwork and plastering
You photograph the wall that needs knocking through, or describe what's being demolished, built and plastered. The AI suggests line items with quantities, from the propping to the skip. You check everything, price it with your hourly rate and send the quote out as a PDF.
Why masonry quotes so often need extras later
An opening is never just a hole
Load-bearing wall or not, lintel or steel beam, propping, making good the reveals, getting the rubble out. Quote only the opening and you end up with three days of work nobody ordered.
Demolition and disposal underestimated
Brickwork, concrete, screed and old plaster go in m², the skip per piece, plus the rubble chute. These line items are easy to forget and end up costing the most money.
From the wall to the screed
A renovation mixes brickwork in m², ring beams in running metres, concrete in m³, chases and socket holes per piece, plaster and screed back in m². Getting all that cleanly into one quote takes time.
How to write a masonry quote with HandwerkerBuddy
- 01
Photograph or describe the wall
Take a photo of the wall or dictate in your language what's coming up: opening 1.20 wide in 24 cm sand-lime brick, put in a lintel, plaster the reveals, dispose of the rubble.
- 02
The AI suggests line items
The AI recognises the work and puts together line items from the catalogue of services, with materials and labour time: opening, lintel, demolition, brickwork, plaster, screed, disposal. The quantities are a suggestion; you sort out the structural calculations as usual.
- 03
Check and send
You change quantities, remove or add line items and enter your own prices. Everything is calculated with your hourly rate. The quote goes to the customer by email as a PDF with your logo.
Example: opening up the kitchen to the living room
Knock through between kitchen and living room, 1.50 m wide, 2.10 m high, wall is 24 cm sand-lime brick, load-bearing, put in a lintel, plaster the reveals, plus two chases for cables and get rid of the rubble.

The app calculates materials and labour time from the catalogue and your hourly rate. The line items appear in German, exactly as your customer sees them in the quote. You check every line before the quote goes out.
What the app brings for bricklayers
Catalogue for shell construction and renovation
Demolition of brickwork, concrete and screed, openings in walls and ceilings, socket holes, brickwork, knee walls, ring beams, reinforcement, internal and external plaster, levelling compound, floating or self-levelling screed, basement waterproofing.
Unclear prices are marked
If a line item has no price or the price is unchecked, you see it straight away. The app doesn't make up any figures. You decide what goes in the quote.
From quote to invoice
Order confirmation, invoice locked in line with GoBD (German bookkeeping rules), receipt scanning for bricks, mortar and skips, time tracking for your crew, EÜR (simplified profit statement) and DATEV export for your tax adviser.
For crews with many languages
The app can be used in 22 languages, and the quote to the customer is in German. The quoting AI runs in a data centre in Frankfurt am Main.

FAQ: masonry software
Is there free software for bricklayers?
Prices for HandwerkerBuddy haven't been set yet. Signing up is free and doesn't commit you to anything. You'll hear the terms before bricklaying launches.
Which masonry work can I quote for?
Typical jobs are wall and ceiling openings with lintels, demolition of brickwork, concrete and screed, new brickwork, chases and socket holes, internal and external plaster, levelling compound, screed, waterproofing at the plinth or in the basement, and disposal in a skip.
Does the app do the structural calculations for an opening?
No. The app suggests line items for your quote, for example propping and a lintel. Whether a wall is load-bearing and which beam goes in, you clarify with the structural engineer as before.
